What is it?

It occurs when the acidic contents of the stomach come out of the stomach and go up the esophagus, which causes a burning sensation or pain, or a feeling of tightness in the back of the throat. This type of episodes can be repeated day and night creating problems of inflammation in the mucosa of the esophagus, sometimes, until ulceration and bleeding.
