What is it?

Accumulation of pus around the anus.

Symptom

• Anal / around-the-year pain
• Fever
• Discharge of fetid fluid around the anus
• Presence of mass around the anus

Diagnostic Studies

• Anoscopy / Rectosigmoidoscopy
• ECO Transanal Sonogram
• Blood tests

Treatment

Medical:
• Analgesics
• Antibiotics

Surgical:
It is the most recommended treatment
• Drainage and cleaning of the abscess
• Subsequent heals
