What is it?
Abnormal growth within the colon, usually malignant, is the most common type of cancer of the gastrointestinal tract and is found in the leading causes of cancer in the general population. It is associated with predisposing factors such as:
• Abundant fat and calorie diets
• Obesity
• Smoking
• Increased alcohol consumption
• Inflammatory Bowel Disease (SITC)
• Family Polyposis Syndrome
